Verification levels

Each level unlocks additional capabilities on the platform. Levels build on each other — completing Standard requires Basic first.

Identity documents accepted

All documents must be valid (not expired), clearly photographed, and match the name on your Acefre account.

National Identity Number (NIN)

Your NIMC-issued NIN slip or NIN card is accepted for Standard and Enhanced verification.

Voter's Card (PVC)

A valid Permanent Voter's Card issued by INEC is accepted as a primary identity document.

International Passport

A valid Nigerian international passport (data page) is accepted for identity verification.

Student ID

A current, university-issued student ID with an expiry or session date is required for Enhanced verification.

School or Employer Email

Verification via a .edu.ng or institutional email address confirms your campus affiliation.

How the review process works

From submission to decision, here is exactly what happens to your verification request.

Submit your documents

Go to your account settings, open the Verification tab, and upload a clear photo of your ID and a selfie.

Automated initial check

Our system runs an automated document check within minutes — confirming document type, clarity, and basic data match.

Manual review if needed

If the automated check flags anything, a member of our trust team reviews your submission within 1–2 business days.

Approval or rejection with reason

You receive a notification with the outcome. If rejected, the specific reason is provided so you can resubmit.

If your verification is approved

  • A verification badge is added to your public profile
  • Your trust score increases immediately
  • New task categories are unlocked based on your level
  • You appear higher in runner search results

If your verification is rejected

You will receive the specific reason. Common reasons for rejection include:

  • Blurry or unreadable document photo
  • Expired government-issued ID
  • Name on ID does not match your account
  • Selfie does not clearly match the document photo

You can correct the issue and resubmit immediately — there is no waiting period.

Privacy and security

End-to-end encryption

Every document you upload is encrypted in transit using TLS and encrypted at rest. No plaintext copies are stored.

Not shared with other users

Your identity documents are never visible to customers, other runners, or any other user on the platform.

Used only for verification

Documents are used exclusively to confirm your identity. They are not sold, rented, or used for any other purpose.

Deletion on request

After your verification is complete, you can request deletion of your uploaded documents from your account settings at any time.

How verification affects your trust score

Your trust score is a number visible on your profile that tells customers and the platform how reliably verified and trusted you are. It is calculated from several signals — verification level being one of the most significant.

Runners with higher trust scores appear earlier in search results and are more likely to receive task offers. A high trust score is the clearest signal of credibility on Acefre.
